Wow Philippines! Wow Tayabas! Every month of May "tayabasin" Celebrates the Mayohan Festival. Mayohan opened May 11 with the Tayabas arch of welcome and the Parada ng Baliskog. 33 barangays and various organizations of government and civil society exhibit their baliskog, decorated with indigenous materials such as rattan, buli, tistis, dried flowers, and kiping. Mayohan is the yearly program of the municipal government to foster solidarity and community. Through a nine-day celebration, which takes place on May eleven to eighteen, the "Tayabasin" honors the glory as well as blesses the wounds and sacrifices of the past. Mayohan is a season to converge in Tayabas as the mother navel of the province of Quezon. From the "linang", or countryside, the rural folk gather at the town proper.
